U.S. Government Spent $22 Million to Give illegal Aliens the COVID Vaccine

The United States government allocated $22.4 million from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and dispersed through the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for illegal aliens to receive the COVID vaccine. The grant was awarded to UnidosUS, a 501(c)(3) left-wing advocacy organization, which describes itself as the nation's largest Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization. The grant began in February 2021 and is set to conclude at the end of January 2026. Nearly $19 million of the $22.4 million has already been paid out to UnidosUS.

This funding is intended to support a campaign to increase awareness, education, and promotion of the COVID-19 vaccine among Latinos, particularly focusing on vulnerable populations, including illegal aliens. The campaign is part of the "Esperanza Hope for All Adult Vaccine Access Program," which was established to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Latino communities.

This campaign aligns with the Biden administration's broader policy to ensure "equitable access" to the vaccine, which has included statements from the administration encouraging all individuals, regardless of immigration status, to get vaccinated. The initiative included a toolkit with messaging guidelines to encourage vaccination, explicitly stating that illegal individuals can receive the vaccine without fear of deportation.
